\u2022 Quickly dry the inside of the mug<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u2022 Then place the warm mug over the ear and leave it there until it cools<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

According to Joe D. White, it works because as the cup cools, the air inside contracts and forms a gentle vacuum. That helps relieve pressure on the eardrum, and the warmth relaxes it too.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
